Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, and Chappell Roan Bring Festive Cheer in ‘A Carpool Karaoke Christmas’

The holiday spirit is in full swing with the release of A Carpool Karaoke Christmas, now streaming on Apple TV+. The latest installment of the Emmy-winning Carpool Karaoke: The Series premiered on December 15, featuring musical icons Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, and rising star Chappell Roan, alongside host Zane Lowe. Packed with candid conversations and joyful holiday music, the hour-long special takes audiences on a festive road trip spanning the globe.

Zane Lowe steps into the driver’s seat, taking over hosting duties from James Corden. The trailer sets the tone with a playful handover scene via phone call, as Lowe embarks on a caroling adventure that travels from Tokyo to Missouri to Los Angeles. Along the way, each artist shares personal stories, heartfelt reflections, and lively performances of holiday classics and signature hits.

Lady Gaga, who recently topped the charts with her single “Die With a Smile,” kicks off the special with a revisit of her cheeky 2008 holiday track, “Christmas Tree.” Describing it as her idea of a playful family singalong, Gaga adds her signature flair to the road trip. The segment concludes with a rousing rendition of “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,” performed with her band, which has been released as a standalone audio track.

Dua Lipa joins for the Tokyo leg of the journey, delivering a vibrant karaoke rendition of the Ronettes’ “Sleigh Ride” alongside her breakout hit, “New Rules.” The chart-topping artist reflects on her meteoric rise to fame, sharing how attending a Katy Perry concert inspired her to pursue a career in music. Her segment highlights her journey from aspiring singer to global star, blending humor and nostalgia with holiday charm.

Chappell Roan brings a more intimate vibe to the special. Returning to her roots in Missouri, she takes Lowe on a tour of her family farm, complete with a chicken named after Lady Gaga. Together with her parents, Roan performs her fan-favorite track “Pink Pony Club” and a heartfelt cover of Wham!’s “Last Christmas.” The family’s emotional connection shines through as Roan’s parents express their pride in her work and message of inclusivity.

Roan’s mother, Kara, shares a particularly touching moment, saying, “Even when we’re grown up, we really care about what our parents think about us. Watching her connect with people through her music makes us so proud.”

The special captures the joy of the season while celebrating the artists’ individuality and connection to their craft. A Carpool Karaoke Christmas is now streaming exclusively on Apple TV+, offering a feel-good experience that blends humor, music, and heartwarming moments.
