FINNEAS Creates a New Band With Ashe With Fresh Release
FINNEAS and singer-songwriter Ashe are stepping into the spotlight together with a brand-new band. The band is The Favors.
Thus, they officially announced the project this week, along with news of their debut album, The Dream. Fans can expect the album on September 19. The first single, “The Little Mess You Made,” drops on Friday, June 6.
“We made a band. It’s called The Favors,” read a joint statement from FINNEAS and Ashe on socials. “Announcing our new album, The Dream, out September 19.” The news was paired with vintage-filtered photos and snippets that hint at the emotionally charged sonic landscape.
What makes this launch hit differently? According to FINNEAS, it’s been a long time coming. “Over the past 18 months, Ashe and I have been toiling away on this album,” he shared on Instagram Stories. “I really mean it when I say I could not be more proud of it.” He also gave props to the band’s full lineup. Thus, he shouts out David Marinelli on drums and Ricky Gourmet on guitar. “I love being in a band,” he added — a sentiment that speaks to a new chapter in the producer-singer’s evolution.
FINNEAS And Ashe’s Collabs
So, the move isn’t out of left field for longtime fans. FINNEAS and Ashe have a collaborative history that dates back to Ashe’s 2019 Moral of the Story EPs. In the project, FINNEAS handled full production duties in Chapter 1 and most of Chapter 2. Thus, their creative bond deepened with 2021’s Till Forever Falls Apart. It is a sweeping ballad they co-wrote and produced for Ashe’s debut album, Ashlyn. This track further proved their ability to blend cinematic songwriting with raw vulnerability.
So, Now, with The Favors, the spark seems to have evolved into something even bigger. They have grown it into a full-fledged band with a shared vision and fresh sound.
FINNEAS, never one to stay idle, also balances this new endeavor with his solo tour in support of his latest studio album, For Cryin’ Out Loud. He’s set to perform at BST Hyde Park in
London on July 4, followed by Rock Werchter in Belgium on July 6, before returning stateside in August for a run of North American festival dates.
As for The Favors, all signs point to a major moment this fall. A secret side project no longer, the duo’s dream is ready for the world to hear — and it’s starting with a little mess.
