The album includes hits like “Stay With Me,” which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, “I’m Not the Only One” (No. 5), “Lay Me Down” (No. 8), and other fan favorites like “Money On My Mind” and “Like I Can.”
The album garnered six Grammy nominations, winning four awards: Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album, Song of the Year for “Stay With Me,” and Record of the Year for the Darkchild remix of “Stay With Me.”
Reflecting on this milestone, Smith expressed their gratitude on social media platform X: “This year marks a decade since the release of my debut album. I feel so incredibly lucky to be celebrating this milestone with you. My team and I have created this beautiful anniversary edition for us all, and for the last 10 years. Today is only the beginning ‘Sailors,’ we have so much to celebrate with you between now and August. I can’t wait to look back on In The Lonely Hour together.”
In addition to the anniversary album, Smith is launching their first podcast, “The Pink House”, which premieres today, June 13. The podcast features conversations with friends and queer icons discussing their journeys and experiences. Produced by Lemonade Media, the show is named after Smith’s childhood home in Great Chishill, England. Guests will include Elliott Page, Joel Kim Booster, Ben Platt, and Gloria Estefan, who will share their personal stories and insights.
The first two episodes of “The Pink House” are available now, with new episodes released weekly. The podcast aims to offer listeners a closer look at the lives and experiences of its guests.
As Smith celebrates the tenth anniversary of “In the Lonely Hour“, both the special edition album and the new podcast highlight their ongoing influence in the music industry. Fans can look forward to revisiting the classic album and engaging with Smith’s latest creative projects.
