MGK Made Surprise Appearance During Coachella
MGK (Machine Gun Kelly) returned to the stage spectacularly on Friday, April 11, with a surprise performance at the 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. This is his first live appearance since becoming a father for the second time.
The 34-year-old artist, MGK-born Colson Baker, joined legendary hip-hop group Three 6 Mafia and longtime collaborator Travis Barker. He jumped on stage during an electrifying Day 1 set on Coachella’s Sahara Stage. He appeared for a high-energy rendition of “Hit a Muthaf—-,” with Barker, 49, handling drums. Though his cameo was brief, it was a decisive nod to his musical roots. Also, it marked a milestone in his ever-evolving personal life.
The performance was shared widely on social media, with MGK posting his own footage to Instagram. Also, he later reflected on X (formerly Twitter) about the moment’s significance. “Let me cook 🕺🕺,” he wrote alongside a clip before honoring Three 6 Mafia’s Juicy J in a follow-up post.
“Juice believed in me 2011 before the world did,” MGK shared. “First rapper to pull up and get high with me. The first major feature I had. The chorus of ‘Wild Boy’ is sampled from our song on his mixtape.”
That shout-out refers to MGK’s early breakout hit “Wild Boy,” a chaotic, high-octane track that helped cement his presence in the hip-hop landscape — and one that owes its DNA to his early connection with Juicy J and the Memphis rap scene.

The Coachella performance also marked MGK’s first public appearance since he and fiancée Megan Fox welcomed their first child together — a daughter born on March 27. “She’s finally here!! our little celestial seed 🥹💓♈️♓️♊️,” the musician wrote in an emotional Instagram post earlier this month.
Baker is also the father of 15-year-old Casie Colson, who had a previous relationship with Emma Cannon. Fox, 38, shares three sons — Noah, Bodhi, and Journey — with actor Brian Austin Green.
