Bladee Drops Stunning Music Video for “SAD MEAL”

After a relatively quiet year in 2023, Bladee has made a remarkable comeback, delivering a steady stream of features, singles, music videos, and albums. Early in the year, Bladee and Yung Lean surprised their fans with their first collaborative album, “Psykos”, which dropped unexpectedly in March. Bladee didn’t stop there; he also featured on two tracks from Varg²™’s “Nordic Flora Series, Pt. 6: Outlaw Music” and reunited with Drain Gang for the track “TL;DR.” In April, Bladee released the music video “PARANOIA INTRO #COLDVISIONS,” sparking much curiosity about a potential new album. Fans’ suspicions were confirmed later that same day when Bladee unveiled the 30-track album “Cold Visions.”

Following the release of “Cold Visions“, Bladee shared music videos for “RED CROSS,” “OTHERSIDE,” and “FALSE.” He also surprised his audience with videos for “DRESDEN ER” and “URIEL OUTRO” from his 2022 album “Spiderr.”

Now, Bladee has returned with a new visual for “SAD MEAL”, a track produced by F1LTHY and 100yrd from Working On Dying. Directed by Hendrik Schneider, the video features Bladee performing in a series of surreal, nighttime scenes that match the intensity and raw energy of the song. Throughout “Cold Visions,” Bladee includes numerous references to his earlier work, such as the lines “Heavy rain falling forever on an everlasting flame” and “In the rain world, money system seeing how to scam the scam,” which nod to his debut mixtape “Gluee” and the unreleased project “Rainworld.” He also flaunts his fashion sense with the lyric “ZILLI shoes, these not New Balance,” highlighting his preference for luxury brands.

Bladee’s resurgence began with the surprise release of “Psykos,” his first full-length collaboration with Yung Lean. This album, released without any prior announcement, delighted fans and marked the beginning of a prolific period for Bladee. His features on Varg²™’s “Nordic Flora Series, Pt. 6: Outlaw Music” demonstrated his ability to blend into different musical styles seamlessly. Reuniting with Drain Gang for “TL;DR” further solidified his presence in the music world.

April saw Bladee drop “PARANOIA INTRO #COLDVISIONS,” a music video that generated significant buzz among his followers. This video was quickly followed by the unexpected release of “Cold Visions,” a massive album with 30 tracks that kept fans engaged and intrigued by his artistic direction.

The subsequent release of music videos for “RED CROSS,” “OTHERSIDE,” and “FALSE” continued to build the visual and thematic world of “Cold Visions.” The surprise videos for “DRESDEN ER” and “URIEL OUTRO” from “Spiderr” added an element of unpredictability to Bladee’s 2023 output, keeping fans eager for more.

“SAD MEAL,” produced by F1LTHY and 100yrd, is the latest addition to Bladee’s impressive catalog of visuals. Directed by Hendrik Schneider, the video complements the track’s eerie, intense vibe. Bladee’s lyrics interweave references to his past works, creating a narrative continuity across his discography. Lines like “Heavy rain falling forever on an everlasting flame” harken back to “Gluee,” while “In the rain world, money system seeing how to scam the scam” references “Rainworld.” His mention of “ZILLI shoes, these not New Balance” subtly emphasizes his penchant for high-end fashion.
