Lady Gaga to Perform at 2025 MTV Video Music Awards

Lady Gaga will return to the MTV Video Music Awards stage this year, headlining a star-packed event on September 7 at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. MTV confirmed her performance as part of a lineup that also features Busta Rhymes, J Balvin, Ricky Martin, and Sabrina Carpenter. Mariah Carey will be honored with the prestigious Video Vanguard Award.

Lady Gaga leads the nominations with 12 nods—the highest of any artist in 2025—including Best Artist, as well as Video and Song of the Year for “Die With a Smile,” her collaboration with Bruno Mars.

The VMAs stage has been a pivotal platform in Gaga’s career. She first performed in 2009 with her unforgettable rendition of “Paparazzi,” and in 2020 she returned for a high-profile duet with Ariana Grande.

Her latest album, Mayhem, released in March, has fueled a busy year of headline appearances. Gaga pulled double duty on Saturday Night Live as both host and performer, opened Coachella 2025, and is currently on her Mayhem Ball Tour, which runs across North America and Europe through December.

The 2025 VMAs promise one of the most anticipated shows of the year, combining veteran icons with today’s biggest stars.
