Mariah The Scientist has announced her highly anticipated album “Hearts Sold Separately.” The album will come out on August 22 via Epic Records.

“Hearts Sold Separately” comes hot on the heels of her hit single’s chart-climbing success, with “Burning Blue.” The single landed at No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking her highest-charting entry to date.

Mariah The Scientist first shared the news of the upcoming album on her social media. She captioned it “HEARTS SOLD SEPARATELY… 08/22 | Link in bio.” The cover art for the LP is striking, featuring Mariah as a miniature green army figurine against a pink backdrop. Meanwhile, the back cover takes a more abstract approach. It showed her figure shattered into plastic pieces. Thus, it reflects the album’s 10 tracks.

Yet Mariah is still keeping the details under wraps. In fact, even the sharpest eyes would struggle to decipher the names or song titles from the image. Mariah invited her followers to have some fun with it. She posted, “Comment ur guess which # you’re claiming off top.” Thus, she raised a lot of comments from fans and industry peers alike. Kali Uchis, Coi Leray, JT, etc, flooded the comments with praise.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Mariah The Scientist reflected on the pressure artists face when it comes to staying true to their vision. “Over time, you start realizing [people] want you to change things. Everybody wants to control your art. I don’t want to argue with you about what I want, because if we don’t want the same things, I’ll just go find somebody who does,” she shared.
