Babyface Ray Drops New Album MOB
Renowned hip-hop artist and rapper Babyface Ray recently shared MOB, a new album that has already turned heads and amassed millions of streams with hits like “Wonderful Wayne & Jackie Boy”, “Spend It”, “Waves On Every Chain”. Unique, funky music deeply rooted in bass and of course the signature rapping executed by Ray, joined by other artists for several collabs—this is all fans need!
Detroit-based rapper Marcellus Register, aka Babyface Ray, is known for his prolific output, his dedication to the Detroit scene, and his slice-of-life lyrics. After multiple mixtape releases, he reached a new level of exposure with his 2021 Billboard-charting EP Unfuckwitable, marked by guest features from Kash Doll, Moneybagg Yo, and EST Gee. MOB, Ray’s second full-length of the year, appeared in December, reaching number 54 on the Billboard 200.
“Ray’s raps typically glide with the efficiency of cold steel, but between forced features, uninspired beat changes, and some ultimately half-baked ideas, his major-label projects have all had a handful of shaky moments. MOB deads that trend, standing as his most meticulous project yet,” Pitchfork review reads. “There’s little fat and just enough experimentation to showcase what Ray does best: bring his world of opulence and tragedy to life with a stoicism that would send chills up Ghost from Power’s spine.”
