Rihanna and A$AP Rocky Welcome Their Second Child

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have embraced parenthood once again with the birth of their second child, a baby boy, on August 3rd, as reported by TMZ. The delivery reportedly occurred in Los Angeles, marking a wonderful addition to their family just over a year after the birth of their first son, RZA Athelston Mayers, who celebrated his first birthday on May 13.

The songstress first unveiled her pregnancy during her headline halftime show at Super Bowl LVII in February. Adorned in a vibrant red ensemble that accentuated her baby bump, the nine-time Grammy winner took the stage with grace and radiance. Following the journey into motherhood, Rihanna introduced the Savage x Fenty maternity line in July, along with promotional visuals showcasing her breastfeeding RZA.

While the name of their newest addition hasn’t been publicly disclosed, their firstborn son, RZA Athelston Mayers, carries a significant moniker. The name is a nod to the Wu-Tang Clan‘s eminent figure, RZA, whose approval was sought and earned. In a July interview with CNN, RZA, also known as Robert Fitzgerald Diggs, expressed his feelings on the matter.

ā€œ[Itā€™s a] great honor to know that thereā€™s another generation thatā€™s not even of my own household that feels the strength and the inspiration of that name,ā€ RZA remarked. He further articulated, ā€œRZA is only a name, itā€™s a title. So itā€™s an honor and I salute her and A$AP and their family. All the blessings in the world from me.ā€

The first birthday festivities for baby RZA in May were a delightful tribute to the Wu-Tang Clan, characterized by a themed party with guests donning attire inspired by the iconic Staten Island hip-hop collective. Rihanna also offered hints about her sonā€™s name through graphic t-shirts featuring RZA’s name.
